Unit Descriptor

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge requires to work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles.

Licensing/Legislative Requirements

Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and Industry sectors. Relevant information must be sourced prior to the application of the unit.

Note: The terms Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Work Health and Safety (WHS) are equivalent and generally either can be used in the workplace. In jurisdictions where the National Model WHS Legislation has not been implemented RTOs are advised to contextualise the unit of competency by referring to the existing State/Territory OHS legislative requirement.

Duration

This course is delivered over the period of a two-day workshop; each day is 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Pre-requisites and Entry Requirements

There are no Pre-Requisites or Entry Requirements for this course.

ISAustralia Job Central requires that participants must attend with, as a minimum, the following Personal Protective Equipment including Hi-Vis Clothing, Safety Boots, Safety Glasses and Sunscreen Protection as well as possessing basic literacy and numeracy skills (assessed at the Pre-enrolment Interview).

Failure to comply with the above will result in the participant being unable to participate.

Prior to Enrolment and Support Services

Prior to enrolment, in addition to providing the participant with information regarding suitable course/s, course content, mode/s of delivery and assessment, pre-requisites and entry requirements, course fees, payment terms and conditions, subsidy/funding support eligibility, duration, venue and commencement date, ISAustralia Job Central conducts an interview to determine if tailored support is required by the participant, including the provision of specialist in-house services to those participants with specific needs.

Participants are required to read and familiarise themselves with ISAustralia Job Central’s Participant Handbook and Participant Code of Conduct.

Delivery and Assessment

The delivery mode is face to face.

The ISAustralia Job Central Participant Handbook provides participants with clear, concise and comprehensive information about assessment.

The assessment for this unit includes a theory test, a project and an observation of practical demonstration (unless the participant is applicable for Recognition of Prior Learning RPL).

Course Award

The participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of this course.

Providing all agreed fees have been paid, ISAustralia Job Central will issue Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) certification documentation within thirty (30) calendar days of the participant being assessed as meeting the requirements of the training product in which the participant is enrolled.

Venue and Commencement Dates

Courses commence at regular intervals and the ISAustralia Job Central Engagement and Support Team (JCEST) will discuss the most appropriate location/venue and commencement date with each participant prior to enrolment.

Fees, Payment Terms and Conditions

Participants may be eligible for subsidy/funding to support the financial costs of the course. The ISAustralia Job Central Engagement and Support Team (JCEST) will assist in advising each participant of their eligibility and implications for future funding support.

Where fees and charges apply, the ISAustralia JCEST will provide the participant prior to enrolment with a Quotation detailing course fees, administration fees, material fees, any other charges and payment options.

ISAustralia Job Central accepts cash, all major credit cards and bank transfers.

ISAustralia Job Central accepts payment of up to $1,500.00 prior to the commencement of the course.

The balance owing can be paid throughout the duration of the course, with each payment being to a maximum of $1,500.00.

The balance owing must be paid before a Testamur or Statement of Attainment will be issued.

Commercial terms are offered for Industry or corporate bookings on approval of account.
