Course Overview

This course provides participants with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to apply work health and safety (WHS) requirements, policies and procedures in the industry and applies to those working in site-based roles.

This course equips participants with the essential skills and knowledge to apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures through safe work practices in on- or off-site workplaces. Designed for individuals entering or working within the civil, industry or those performing high-risk work or operating machinery and plant items, it provides the fundamental WHS awareness necessary to undertake work tasks safely and to recognise and respond to risks and hazards.

  • Identify health and safety legislative requirements of industry work
  • Identify industry hazards and control measures
  • Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
  • Identify incident and emergency response procedures
  • Plan and prepare for safe work practices

Entry Requirements

  • Age: Minimum 18 years of age

  • Have the necessary health and fitness to carry out the work safely

Course Outcome

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Completion for ‘LIC001 Induction to Work Health and Safety (WHS) Course’ and eligible to apply for the LIC001 licensed outcome. The Timor-Leste regulator IGEADI recognises this course under their framework.
